How much mulch do you need?
Area (sq ft) × depth (ft) = cubic feet ÷ 27 = cubic yards. One cubic yard covers ~100 sq ft at 3" deep. Bulk delivery (by the yard) is far cheaper than bags for beds over ~50 sq ft.
- 2 cu ft bag = the standard mulch bag at garden centers
- 27 cu ft = 1 cubic yard
- Order ~10% extra for uneven ground
